First Round of Rhode Island Golf Tournament

The first of the Medicus - AJGA tournament is finished. A brutal day faced the players with howling winds, and forced carries. The first hole, a par 5 with a 220 yard carry over a protected wetlands area, gave the players fits. Several players did not carry this wetlands which played into a 30 mph wind and resulted in some high scores. 10-12 shots for the first hole was not uncommon and got the players off to a rough start.

The yesterday was 73 but the majority of the field shot scores in the mid to upper 80’s Sure glad I didn’t have to play! We’ll post the results tomorrow.
