Drive For Show, Putt For Dough

We’ve all heard the phrase, "Drive for show and putt for dough."  Easy to say, difficult to do.

Keeping the Driver in the fairway is one of the most difficult things for golfers of all abilities including the world’s #1 player, Tiger Woods.

Tiger however, makes up for this erractic driving by ranking #1 in greens hit from OFF the fairway!  That, along with his normally "magic" putting stroke equal lower scores.

The average golfer needs to recognize that they are NOT going to hit every fairway - the world’s best players don’t!  Calvin Peete, the all-time accuracy leader in fairways hit, averaged over 80% for his 30 plus year career!

When you miss a fairway, get the ball back in play, don’t go for the 1 in a 100 shot.  Take double bogey or worse out of play, then get the ball onto the green adn give yourself a chance to make par or bogey.

Driver, wedge, and putter account for approximately 78% of ALL shots!  Spend more time on the putting green and lower your scores.
