The past two weeks on the PGA Tour have been filled with ups and downs!

First, Paul Goydos shots 59 and does NOT win the tournament!  Steve Stricker put on a scoring clinic at the 2010 John Deere Classic unlike we have ever seen through the first 54 holes and wound up winning that event for the second consecutive year!

Secondly, Louis Oosthuizen (WUHST-hy-zen) comes out of nowhere to win the 2010 British Open!  Who is this guy and where did he come from?

Louis Oosthuizen is a young South African golfer who is starting to make an impact on the European Tour. His victories on the amateur circuit saw him become a professional golfer when he was just 19 years old. Five tournament wins on the Sunshine Tour led to a place on the European Tour, where he finished 31st in the Order of Merit in 2009.

I’d like to congratulate them both on outstanding performances and in Oosthuizen’s case – his first Major win!

Camilo Villegas

Camilo Villegas

Camilo Villegas came from 5 shots back to beat Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win the Tour Championship. His win also gave him second place in the FedEX Cup points race behind VJ Singh.

This is Villegas’ second win this year and we want to congratulate him on a great year. Things can only get brighter for this popular player!

Camilo proudly endorses the Medicus Power Max and uses it for building up clubhead speed, strength, and flexibility.

FORT WORTH, Texas — He could hit the same shot a thousand more times and never hit the tree. Not even come close.

Annika Sorenstam announced today that she is “retiring” at the end of the season.  Here is the excerpt from Fox Sports.

Annika Sorenstam

In the end, it was quintessentially Annika Sorenstam.

Speaking in a cramped media center at the Sybase Classic, Sorenstam, winner of 72 LPGA titles, announced she would “step away from competitive golf” at season’s end following a historic 15-year pro career. The 37-year-old LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member kept her composure throughout the 25-minute press conference; it may have been more surprising had she not.

Sorenstam arrived at the dais wearing a black hat and black long-sleeved top, the funeral attire broken by khaki pants. She looked down at a lone, folded piece of paper she brought with her while patiently waiting for a few minutes for technical difficulties to be resolved, occasionally smiling at a familiar face.

“Hi, everybody — thank you for coming,” Sorenstam began. “The last time I saw this many cameras was at Colonial.”
