It’s getting close to the end of golf season for many parts of the United States and with this change is the Winter Time Withdrawals!

A lot of players have finally gotten their games to a point where they are happy with the results and now they put up their clubs for the winter and don’t get them out until spring.

Spring rolls around, out come the clubs, and now the player has the whole season to get their game “back in shape” yet once again. This is a NEVER ending cycle for a lot of golfers.

We work so hard to play good golf only to get to that point and then stop because of weather. The good news –

YOU DON’T HAVE TO START OVER AGAIN!

This winter do something different and KEEP your game in shape. All you need are a few “toys”, a few “drills” and you’ll start next season way ahead of schedule.

Here’s what you need:

1. Flashlights or lasers
2. A Mirror
3. Stretch Bands
4. Dowels
5. Racquets

With these common items and the drills we have over at the Forum your game won’t suffer the Wintertime Blues.

I get emails and phone calls almost daily from players asking how to re-build their golf strokes. First, it isn’t always necessary to re-build – you may just need to tune up what you already have.

Don’t “cast away” something you’re familiar with unless it is producing inferior results. But if you REALLY want to improve then the first thing every player must do is build correct Impact Alignments.

Start with the smallest stroke – putting/chipping. Practice making these strokes without flipping your wrist at the golf ball. Impact should be – on every shot with every club – the left arm and clubshaft in ONE straight line, the hands IN FRONT of the golf ball, and a descending blow.

There is absolutely no use in trying to make a full swing with a Driver if you can’t make a 2 foot stroke with proper alignments. Fight that urge to grab the “Big Dog” until you can make Impact prpoerly with a 10 foot chip shot.
